PARIS, OCTOBER 24,2016: (DGW) As the swearing in Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the governor-elect together with his running mate approaches, more facts are beginning to emerge how Nigeria's electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission may have been financially induced by the outgoing Governor Adams Oshiomhole to give victory to his the candidate of who contested on the platform of the ruling All Progressives' Congress.
In an attempt to dig deep into the 'victory' of the Governor-elect which is still under contention , our team beamed its searchlight on  some agents that monitored the elections across the state on September 10 and surprisingly shocking discoveries were made how the All Progressives Congress manipulated the whole process to favour the APC candidate Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
Our team of reporters unavoidably had to leave our Paris headquarters to meet some of the team of International Observers and agents  in Zurich, Switzerland that monitored the just concluded gubernatorial election.
Mr. Iredia Osakwe, a renowned scholar, editor-in-chief of Turin-based  Klass magazine , social critic and public commentator on global issues who also was an agent revealed what he described as an eyesore at the polling unit he was attached and assigned to.
While speaking to our reporters in Zurich, Switzerland,he said, ''for somebody to have been declared a winner it must be evident that there was fairness and to be a cheerful loser it has to be proven that the winner actually won, else the supposed winner will be labeled a cheat.  In this circumstance ,there was a high level of cheating and gross manipulation of the result in favour of Mr. Godwin Obaseki as money freely changed hands to induce voters, in fact, I have never seen such level of impunity and corruption in my whole life.
''I even had to confront and called the attention of the Collating Officer to the irregularities I saw and threatened to write a report, but he told me point-blank they are acting on orders from above that my report will be thrown into the trash can if ever I write one.''
When asked if it would not be proper for peace to reign in the state for the PDP candidate to accept defeat in the true spirit of sportsmanship and congratulate the winner as declared by INEC, he minced no words in saying he does not support adding that that would amount to setting a very dangerous precedence in future elections.
He added that it would amount to subverting the mandate and wishes of the people like a marriage that has been annulled and ultimately bastardized which will not augur well for the state in the end in future elections.
Speaking further, he said, '' In Africa anything goes, that is why we are still backward. The irregularities that trailed that election are more than enough for cancellation and a fresh election ordered. Why must he congratulate the person who he believes stole his mandate?  What also bothers me is the misappropriation of the word "sportsmanship." The dictionary meaning is explicit and to the point and it refers: "Sportsmanlike conduct, as fairness, courtesy, being a cheerful loser, etc."
Mr Osakue rounded off by saying, the simple understanding of the above illustration( if sportsmanship should be the focal point) the supposed winner ought to have acted in the spirit of sportsmanship to outrightly agree to the allegation, admit guilt ( if in fact there was any iota of cheating)and without rancor return his supposed mandate to the People's Democratic Party candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu'', he concluded.
Mr. Pierre Paux, one of the international observers in the group  photograph below simply said the Edo election was a sham and recommended outright cancellation adding that the election was organized and done by  what he described as a group of  ''medieval Homo Sapiens.''
Said Mr. Paux, ''That election conducted in the Nigerian State of Edo does not conform to any democratic norm under the sun. It was a sham organized by an umpire made up of medieval Homo Sapiens''

In a similar vein, Mr Jimoh Ibrahim , the factional candidate of the Peoples' Democratic Party , (PDP) in the November 26 Ondo State gubernatorial election also has made a stunning revelation.
He alleged that the acting legal adviser of the Independent National Electoral Commission , Mrs. O Babalola has demanded one million United States dollars bribe from him in order to be listed as the party’s candidate for the election in obedience to the ruling of an Abuja Division of the Federal High Court.
Recall, Justice Okon Abang, in a ruling fortnight ago ordered INEC  recognize him as the candidate to fly the party's flag at a factional primary organized by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff faction.
Conversely, INEC had already  accepted Hon. Eyitayo Jegede who emerged from Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee primaries, as the party’s candidate for Ondo State.
He disclosed this in Abuja on Sunday at a press conference that Babalola has in fact demanded a whopping $1 million bribe from him which he does not have  before the order could be effected by her.
In a swift reaction, he said he has in fact gone to report the matter to INEC Chairman Professor , Professor Mahmud Yakubu.
Reacting to the allegation, the Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi, however, described the allegation as false, lacking no basis.
Sources, however, said  Ibrahim, in a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari, alleged that “one Mrs. O. O. Babalola of INEC demanded the payment of $1 million before she would obey a court judgment marked exhibit A attached.” The petition was dated October 21 and on hearing the action and step taken by the  electoral body, which had said it would obey the court order immediately it was served, suddenly started to develop cold feet.
He warned the commission not to “allow one governor to destroy its reputation.” “We are not saying that INEC will not obey the court judgment.
One of the officials demanded $1 million bribe from me to process the court judgment. “I was shocked. She said I should bring $1 million or another order of court before she can do her job. I asked which job? She insisted that she will not obey that court order and if I don’t pay, she will not do it unless we bring another court order.
Like a joke, she published another person’s name from Governor Olusegun Mimiko,” he alleged. Ibrahim further demanded the removal of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo State, Olusegun Agbaje, alleging that he is a card-carrying member of a political party. He said the REC could not be trusted to conduct a free and fair election in the state.
Oyekanmi, however, described Ibrahim’s allegation as false. “It is not true that Mrs. Babalola demanded $1 million bribe from Jimoh Ibrahim. Two other officials of INEC witnessed the encounter between Mrs. Babalola and Ibrahim.
“Ibrahim brought a copy of his judgment and wanted to impress it on INEC to collect it. But we told him that we already have it. It is uncharitable and ungodly of businessman of his stature to make this kind of allegation,” he added.
